It is officially December! Where did the time go?? There has been so much activity lately… feels like everyone is aware that the year is coming to a close and things need to start getting done, like SHOPPING!! We’ve hit up a couple of indie art shows already(more to come this month!) and have spent a good chunk of change on unique and handmade items for friends and family.

A Good Affair’s Delightful December Christmas Countdown! ~ Day 2 ~

Yes- family, good will and glad tidings are what makes Christmas such a happy time for most people. But shopping (and LOTS of it) is definitely a contender in what makes the Holidays such an adventure to say the least. From Black Friday ordeals to the right before Christmas sales, it’s safe to assume that we are constantly shopping for a solid MONTH for the perfect gift for friends, family and colleagues. (The exception being those who are EXTREMELY proactive and start shopping in the Spring – geniuses, really. Much can be learned.)

But for the rest of us who are still scouring the web, hunting down deals, or just trying to find SOMETHING for that one person… maybe ditch the conventional shopping locales and hit up a holiday indie arts and craft fair! State of Unique is this weekend! And then will be the Renegade Craft Fair the following weekend!

Unique LA (now called State of Unique) is a packed smorgasbord of vendors and artists, from bath & beauty to clothing to edibles, this show has got it ALL!
And what’s unique (pun intended) about this show is that it will all be vendors who produce their goods right here in the US! So get up, get out and show your support this weekend!

BUT

If, for whatever reason, you can’t make it THIS weekend, try this one the following weekend:

Another HUGE sprawl of vendors at the Los Angeles State Historic Park with goods including sweets, jewelry, stationary, clothing and much much more!

With this amazing Southern California “winter” weather, a nice day out in the park will be lovely. So grab your friends, family, dog, baby… and get to some shopping!

We work with our clients to create a one-of-a-kind affair… but traditions are always included in these special days! One longtime tradition is the ringbearer pillow or ring plates. The wedding rings are of vital importance to the wedding ceremony, and so they are presented with the ring pillow to highlight the significance. Recent newlyweds, Natalie and Phil had used a ring plate which had been in their family for generations!

While ring pillows come in all shapes, sizes and colors, store-bought or handmade, the ring plate has a different air of elegance and symbolism. We came across clay artist, Rae Dunn, and fell in love with her designs!

In looking back, we’re surprised that after all the times we’ve seen and shared the fabulous “bridal hangers” with our clients – we’ve not actually done a post on it! AND we had worked with a wonderful Etsy vendor for a photoshoot too! Better late than never…

We love rockabuycreations on etsy! Not only was she so wonderful to participate in our photoshoot, but her hangers are beautiful and come in many different styles!

I love this one! Very chic with the black wire and bling-bling!

With our crazy schedule of events and weddings, we definitely have to make an effort to get out and about to see new things and gather more inspirations to pass on and share with our clients. So this week’s Fab Find will be a veritable smorgasbord of awesome finds!

This past weekend we got to spend a day at Unique LA – an art and design show with tons of local artists and vendors! From paper products to sea salt soap scrubs to handmade handbags, Unique LA was a bustling mecca of artists, shoppers, and snackers. We were so excited to be able to check out their first ever summer show!

A few of our personal favorites shops/items – some we thought of our clients, and some we just wanted to ourselves. See what you think! Some vendors we already know and love…

Our past couple Brooke & John had these delicious s’muffins as favors for their guests at their reception at the Bella Collina Towne and Golf Club! They were DELICIOUS – none were left at the end of the night!

Something totally unique for gifts or for the home… awesome beer bottle glasses.

Made from recycled glass bottles. Eco-friendly!

We ran into Immaculate Confections… in the flesh! Well… cake. (Remember our past post on this awesome company?)
They were soo delicious and moist! It was hard to walk away!


Adorable paper goods!! Check out these cute wishing trees for weddings, showers and other parties!

There were tons of great vendors and artists and confectioners! Our wallets did not escape unharmed…
