Happy Firsts

Happy Monday to all! What better way to start off the week than with an AMAZING review from a past client. Really know how to get a girl excited and feeling on top of the world. We were fortunate enough to work with this amazing couple on their wedding the end of last month (more to come on them soon so stay tuned). Check out what the Bride had to say on   A Good Affair’s listing on The Knot as well as several others.

week of wedding coordinator   posted 11/8/2010 (updated 11/8/2010)

Natalie did a wonderful job as our “week-of” coordinator. My fiancé and I planned most of the wedding ourselves and we were looking for someone to help make sure our wedding day ran smoothly. Our main goal throughout our wedding planning process was to have fun and make our 500-guest, Armenian orthodox wedding as stress free as possible. My fiancé and I knew we would need some serious help on our wedding day to pull off a fun, minimally stressful day. Natalie played a major role in making this possible, as she not only assisted us during the week of our wedding, but she even came to our house a couple months before to help us iron out details. She was flexible with our rigid work schedules and graciously reminded us on several occasions when we forgot to do things. In the days before the wedding, Natalie struck a good balance between patience and persistence as we all worked to tie up the loose ends. Still, it was on our wedding day when Natalie really shined. She and her assistant arrived early to set up. They helped to resolve some serious safety issues with rental companies while setting up a hall for 500 people and dealing with our family members who were also there to help. Additionally, she and her assistant stayed over their contracted time to ensure that we completed our wedding program and were free to enjoy the rest of the night. We so appreciated Natalie’s organized, yet flexible approach and her easy going character. She managed many demanding guests, finicky family members, and adamant vendors with aplomb and sweet-natured humor. Although we thanked Natalie repeatedly on the day of our wedding for all of her efforts in making our special day run smoothly, we wanted to sing her praises in a more public forum. For those looking for an assertive and flexible person to guide and assist you throughout your wedding process, we highly recommend Natalie and her team to ensure that your wedding is everything that you wanted. Thanks Natalie!

Getting reviews from clients likes this is so rewarding because it lets us know that our services are valued and important. So often I hear people say “well we don’t have the budget for a wedding planner,” our response to that is how can you pass up the service? A Professional Wedding Planner not only helps you tie all the details together but we save you money along the way and a very large headache. Why do you want to work your own party??? We are insurance for one of the largest expenses you will have and hoping that it will all work out and fall into place is a scary risk. Always insure your investments- hire a professional planner, certified by the Association of Bridal Consultants and give yourself the best gift- peace of mind.

We would love to share our knowledge, experience, design expertise, etiquette advice, people management, contract negotiations, and so much more. Let’s get together and chat about your big day and how we can help you from being an exhausted and overwhelmed bride~ you deserve it! :)

We are so thrilled to finally get to show you all our amazing design studio in Newport Beach! A Good Affair Wedding & Event Production is proud to share this space with two wonderful wedding vendors: Capturing Moments Photography and Simply Sweet Cakery- definitely check them out as they offer impeccable service.

When it came time to design this place Brooke and I knew that the nasty carpet had to go and in came new wood floors provided by Natalie’s husband Jason~ Thanks Punkin! Then there were the walls- we did a light gray (the color of 2010 BTW) and a soft white on the bottom. Have you heard that lighting makes a room? Well this one sure does! So love this chandelier because it is clean and elegant. We filled the space with vintage details that just came out adorable. Hope you like!

Check out some of the amazing images Jaimee of Capturing Moments took:

Stay tuned for a very special evening we will be hosting at The Factory, our building, for brides. It will be fabulous and free so bring anyone with you. The date is November 4, 2010 from 7-9 PM. Happy Anniversary~ Lauren & Jason!

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

We can’t believe it’s already been 1 year since Lauren & Jason’s Wedding! They were such a great couple to work with and we are so blessed to still be in touch and have Lauren as a friend! She was one of the sweetest brides we have ever had and so easy going. Talk about rolling with the punches~ that’s Lauren and we loved it!

We hope that this first year of marriage has been full of great memories and lots of love! Thanks for trusting A Good Affair Wedding & Event Production with your coordination, design, and custom florals, it was absolutely such a pleasure to be a part of your wedding!

Lauren wanted her flowers to be a little vintage mixed with dramatic and the real feathers really made the look pop.

We had the pleasure of working with D. Park Photography who gave us some amazing images. Drexelle and David are a great duo and always so easy to work with. Check out some of our favorite shots!

Love love this shot~ her tattoo looked so awesome with the flowers.

This is still one of my favorite cakes- the design is just so vintage and lovely~ Colette’s Cake Goddess’s did a fabulous job!

A Funny shot~ the girl’s were getting emotional, it was really sweet.

These were the biggest roses we have ever seen! Black Bacarras and Black Magics- Yum Yum!

When looking to plan figure out your wedding design talk to your florist and coordinator about your own personal style, colors you two love, and things that you love to do. When you pull in personal style versus picking something out of a magazine, your wedding will be personal and your event will be even more memorable for your guests.

If you need help with your design, planning, and coordination we would love to meet with you for a complimentary consultation at our design studio in Newport Beach.

We had the pleasure of being a part of Marbella Country Club, in San Juan Capistrano, Bridal Open House earlier this week and wanted to share some great images of our booth with you! It was a lovely show and we met some great potential clients that we hope to work with soon. If you haven’t been to Marbella Country Club you should definitely check it out. They have a stunning waterfall as the backdrop for the outdoor ceremony and then a great indoor/outdoor room for the reception. What we think is awesome about it is it doesn’t look like a ballroom and instead has a fireplace at one end, French doors leading out to the terrace where you can have your guest seating. If you are looking for a golf course setting for your reception but want something unique this is the perfect place for you. The staff and food are great and the location is gated and private. Their pricing is very reasonable for all that you get in their packages. The decor is very pretty so you don’t have to spend a ton of money dressing up the space, just some great centerpieces and lighting will make the location look awesome!

We have to thank a great photographer, Kenny Grill, for capturing photos of our decor. We met for the first time and he was so easy going and really nice, not to mention his work is beautiful! Very crisp and clean. Make sure to check out more of his work here. Thanks again Kenny!

We are so in love with the fabric balls that we handmade to hang from this tree- such a fun idea for a wedding, bridal shower, or baby shower and you could use any kind of fabric to pull in colors and style. We also took clock parts and then hung them from the jars which came out super cute as well. It’s all about the little details!

We had a great time and are greatful to Marbella for asking us to be a part of the event. Hope you got some inspiration for your next event.

How can it almost be October? Time really is flying by so fast these days! My Mom was right when saying as you get older time goes by faster and faster, can’t imagine what it will be like when I am actually old!!! We have been super busy booking clients for 2011 and gearing up for some amazing weddings in the beautiful month of October. Finalizing designs and details for our amazing clients is just too much fun. Can’t wait for the wonderful weddings at Irvine Hilton and Bagramian Hall next month as well as an awesome annual event for Boys and Girls Clubs of La Habra. We have been thrilled to be in our new office the past 3 months (pics soon so stay tuned) and are really enjoying meeting people there.

We are still catching up from the crazy Summer but wanted to say a Happy Anniversary to an amazing couple that we had the pleasure of working with. Stephanie and Kabir’s wedding was gorgeous at The French Estate in Orange. The venue is so quint and historic, a little gem in Orange County for your wedding. The ceremony area in the front of the house is darling. The design for their wedding lent itself to Stephanie’s southern roots and we had a blast coming up with darling details such as moss filled boxes for the place cards and gourmet carmel corn for the favors.

We love when we get to stay in touch with our fabulous clients and are so excited that this lovely couple is expecting next year! Hope AGA gets to be a part of the shower too.

So Happy Anniversary to this darling duo~ best wishes on starting a family and celebrating your love for one another.

I can’t believe it has already been 1 year since Christina & Kevin’s June nuptials at Old Ranch Country Club! I am lucky enough to stay in touch with this wonderful couple and they just celebrated their anniversary with a trip to Europe (can you say jealous?) I can!

Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Reese!
