Fab Finds

Weddings are always one of those occasions to go all out! Whether the wedding be held at a vineyard in Temecula, a unique zoological adventure such as Rancho Las Lomas, a romantic garden courtyard like Franciscan Gardens, or even a beautiful ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton… the bride will always out-shine everything and everyone! One trend we are loving is the statement necklace. Bold and edgy, yet beautiful and glamorous… the perfect adornment to the most beautiful bride!

We are seeing the move from candy stations to dessert buffets at both weddings and social occasions! Cake pedestals are a classic touch to any display – from porcelain to milk glass, vintage or brand new. What about something personalized to mark any special occasion?

We love these special cake stands (made to order!) from Jeanette Zeis Ceramics!

We also love the details that go into her other works too!

Sometimes it may be hard for a bride to admit… you want your bridesmaids to look good, but not TOO good. You love your gal pals and they are obviously important to you to be in your bridal party… so give them something glamorous to sashay down the aisle in, and punctuate your entrance with style.

These dresses are amazing! AND so versatile! This is key for the cost-effective brides and bridesmaids who want more than a one-time wear outfit. Check out Two Birds… one dress, over fifteen ways to wrap it, wear it again and again!

The website itself is magnifique! You can change collections, and choose colors and styles all with one easy click! And a bonus is that whatever your dress combination is – it will tell you if it’s bra friendly, maternity friendly, bandeau friendly, with shoulder coverage, back coverage, and/or supportive.

We’re actually quite the fan of the two-toned dresses. They might QUITE the statement!

“Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.”

All things for good luck for a bride on her wedding day to bring on a happy marriage.

But what’s the meaning behind each verse? From Wedding Bee:
[Something old - continuity with the bride's family and the past
Something new - optimism and hope for the bride's new life ahead
Something borrowed - an item from a happily married friend or family member, whose good fortune in marriage is supposed to carry over to the new bride
Something blue - Before the late 19th century, blue was a popular color for wedding gowns, as evidenced in proverbs like, "Marry in blue, lover be true."]

We had previously shared about the “sixpence in her shoe“, and we’ve seen plenty of darling blue shoes too!

The new can be the wedding gown, or the veil. But both can also be borrowed, if they are handed down through generations.

Here are a couple of ideas that incorporates all these ideas into one neat package!

from Etsy shop: Rosebud Lips

Of course, the old, new, borrowed, and blue typically takes on much a more sentimental value too! So get creative with family and friends for good luck on your wedding day!

Often times floral decor, whether it be aisle flowers, arch pieces, or table centerpieces, end up going to waste if no one takes them home to enjoy. We love the idea of these terrarium centerpieces as an alternative to floral centerpieces and decor… and even without a centerpiece giveaway game during the reception, we’re sure that these beautiful creations will find a lovely home at the end of the night!

Maybe a large terrarium on each table isn’t your style? But you like the idea? How about these genius little lightbulb terrariums?

We LOVE the vintage look and enjoy scouring shops for neat antiques. But we also love the other side of things… super modern and industrial. And what’s more industrial than cement?

Check out these lovelies for you concrete lovers out there! We are super tempted to buy some concrete containers for ourselves!

Check out this Etsy shop for amazing hand-poured cement pieces!

What do you think about this look?
One might think of concrete as cold and unfeeling, but there’s a certain charm that happens when you add in beautiful flowers and greens!

The year is coming to a close, and we are starting to get sentimental about 2011. We had such a wonderfully amazing year and will be sad to see it go, but we are definitely excited for 2012 and everything it will bring! (Be sure to check out our end of the year post coming out on New Year’s Eve!)

With that being said, nothing quite rings of sentimentality as weddings do. And this week’s fab find definitely hits that note!

We fell in love with these bridal clutches that are lined with a photo of the bride and groom. Can you imagine those precious moments during your big day, as you reach for your lipgloss, you’ll find a picture of you two? Brilliant isn’t it??

Bridal Clutches by Angee W.! Check out their website and then head to their shop on Etsy!

And definitely browse through all the other amazing handmade clutches with feathers, crystals and lace!

We would love one for ourselves just for special occasions as well! Gorgeous handmade work by an amazing mother-daughter team! We love Angee W.!

Happy Planning,

AGA

There’s nothing like an emotionally moving wedding… tears of joy accompanied by stifled sniffles. We, extremely prepared wedding planners, are always packing some Kleenex for the bridal party, family and friends…

But here’s an idea we found and love! and Eco-friendly too! Custom handkerchiefs, useful and sentimental all-in-one.

Check out Chrissy’s Creations on Etsy for custom embroidery!

And if you think your dad is the stone faced rock of your life… give him one like this, and we’ll bet some tears will well up!

Don’t let your love affair with these handkerchiefs end as embroidered gifts for the family… what about as invites for all your guests?
And for those guests who are criers at weddings, they’ll be sure to bring along their invite to make good use of!

We’re re-visiting Bird and Banner for these lovely ideas using handkerchiefs!

Love this idea too! Include a little hanky with your ceremony program!

Maybe you’d rather keep a handful of precious handkerchiefs for a more intimate setting… we love this sweet idea!
