If you want to make your life easier and enjoy the process of planning a wedding, the only way to go is to hire a wedding planner. We moved from overseas to New York shortly after getting engaged and decided to have our wedding in Malibu four months later, so it was imperative to find someone to help remotely plan a fairly large wedding (approximately160 people) which not only would reflect our personalities/styles but also within a short amount of time.
We found Natalie Good after extensively researching wedding coordinators online and hired her for our September wedding for both A Good Affair Design and A Good Affair Planning services. It was one of the best wedding planning decisions we could have made.
We cannot recommend Natalie and her team enough. They were professional, organized, creative, and have a strong attention for detail. In addition, Natalie is warm, enthusiastic and accessible- our emails were answered immediately by her or her team and we felt like she was always available to talk through an issue, a decision or an etiquette question.
In the planning phase, she helped brainstorm the overall design of the ceremony and reception and connected us with excellent vendors at a discounted rate such as a photographer (Clayton Austin), florals (French Buckets), pianist (Denny White) for the ceremony and reception, party rentals (Storied Rentals) and other vendors (e.g. Stationers - East Six Design, DJ - Elevated Pulse).
Her recommendations were invaluable- we were thrilled with everyone we worked with for the wedding, and without Natalie, we would’ve had an extremely difficult time sifting through countless vendors.
On the organization front, she was outstanding in every respect. From the outset, Natalie inspired the utmost confidence. It was very easy to trust that she or her team were handling the month-to-month details from liaising with the venue to giving us monthly checklists, running our rehearsal and providing timelines for the Big Day and during the whole week of our wedding when we needed her the most, she readily took care of everything. As a result, we were able to enjoy all the events leading up to the wedding and the big day itself.

We had such a wonderful time working with Jennifer from A Good Affair! Our wedding was October 2013 and we hired Jennifer for her coordinating services and she was such a huge help throughout the wedding planning process. Where do I begin? Finding and hiring Natalie and A Good Affair was the best wedding planning decision we could make for ourselves. Natalie is fun, energetic, passionate and a design MASTER. She is every bride's dream. She will get you everything you want and more! She has so many amazing vendor-friends that she works with that the hardest part of the planning process was choosing one over the other because everyone she introduces you to does amazing work. Our wedding was everything we hoped for and more. It was fun, had yummy food and was more beautiful than we could have ever imagined.
Anna is also amazing and so sweet! She had the daunting task of scheduling all our vendor meetings and she did a great job making it work. As soon as I met Natalie, I knew we were a great fit. She came across as experienced and highly professional, yet sweet and easy to get along with. Since I live in Madrid and was marrying a Spaniard (with his family and our friends flying out to California!), I knew my wedding would be a little tricky. The fact that my Spanish guests kept telling me “Michella, it’s going to be just like the weddings in the movies!” really laid the pressure on thick! However, the cultural differences, language barriers, and the fact that I live across the Atlantic didn’t seem to phase Natalie one bit. She simply embraced it and ran with it.
Natalie made an extra effort to please our Spanish guests. The idea was to create the typical American wedding they so longed for, yet to also throw a splash of their culture in the mix. Natalie also made sure Spanish alcohol and Fanta were provided, along with transportation for the Spaniards to and from their hotels (It’s customary in Spain). Our wedding was also bilingual and Natalie’s team even handed out translations of the best man and maid-of-honor’s speeches so everyone could understand. Natalie’s effort kept everyone happy and in communication!
However, after all I have explained above, what I am most grateful for and forever will be is the supportive, kind, and dedicated friend Natalie was when my mother unexpectedly passed away two and a half months before the wedding. It was a complete shock and absolutely devastating. Natalie was there for me and I will never forget that. She came to the funeral too. I wasn’t sure I even wanted get married at that point. However, as time passed, I thought about what my mother would have wanted for me. She had loved Alejandro, and I knew she would want me to have the beautiful wedding she had so happily been helping me plan with Natalie. One day when I met up with Natalie and she asked me what I wanted to do. I mustered up all my strength and decided to go full speed ahead. I’m so glad I did, too. My wife and I hired "A Good Affair" to assist us in our wedding preparations and with the coordination of our wedding. Our wedding coordinator from "A Good Affair" was Jennifer Chen and she turned out to be the most amazing wedding coordinator we could have asked for. Leading up to the wedding, I was living in Colorado and traveling to California to see my wife every 2 weeks so I was unable to attend all of the vendor meetings and appointments. Jennifer scheduled and accompanied my wife to each of the vendor meetings and even suggested a few vendors that we ultimately went with. In addition to scheduling vendor meetings, she also played a large role in helping us establish our theme and design our perfect wedding. Jennifer created a design idea board that brought the ideas to life. We also hired "A Good Affair" to provide and create all of our flower arrangements for the wedding. This was one of the best decisions we could have made considering that they were already so in tune with our wedding design. All of the arrangements and decorative flowers looked amazing and coincided with our theme. As I mentioned before, working with Jennifer was one of the best decisions we could have made for many reasons but in my opinion, the most important reason was how smooth and seamless our ceremony and reception went under her coordination. Her previous experience really shined through as she ensured that each important moment of our day went off without a single issue. At the end of our reception, we realized that we got so caught up chatting with guests and dancing that we missed our chance to get a slice of our wedding cake. As we were getting into the car to head back to our hotel, Jen mentioned that she had saved several pieces of cake for us and that they were waiting for us in the backseat. It was this attention to detail throughout the ceremony and reception that really made our day special. We thank Jen for all her hard work and consideration in making our wedding day amazing!

The real reason you want Natalie is her wedding design. She can adapt to any style, but if you just let her be the true pro that she is, you'll get a wedding that is classy and stunning.
